At work, I wanted to help one of my friends who was yet to be allocated to a project. His profile was with one of the Directors whom I know well and worked with regularly. Just a week back we had a small conflict at work; was a bit hesitant if I can go and talk to him and recommend my friend for the role in his project. As the situation was critical, I went in and called him. He was gladly talking and was fine to consider my friend's profile for the role. He sent a note that he trusts my feedback...
This is it... the trust and the respect we earn - his response made my day. A good leader knows how to handle different situations - strong enough to pinpoint mistakes and soft enough to hear and render a help when needed.
I'm so glad that my friend is getting placed...
